#RKOI

Rich Kids Of Instagram...
http://richkidsofinstagram.tumblr.com/

That link above goes to a tumbler page that features some of the "best" of the #rkoi hashtag on Instagram.
A hashtag that will lead you to photographs of incredibly wealthy youth enjoying/sqaundering/flaunting/youpick their wealth in a variety of stylistic filters and frames.

I generally don't begrudge anyone their wealth... to a point. My theory is that if people have seen fit to pay you money for whatever it is you're offering, then you earned it in some way. I do have a problem with the outrageous tax dodging and exploitation that many people engage in once they've generated great wealth, but that's a whole other post.

It turns out I also have a issue with spoiled kids who more than likely didn't lift a finger to earn the stacks of cash that finance the lifestyle they flaunt on #rkoi but, then again if I was born that rich why in the hell would I take time to question it and think about less fortunate people. I'd be to busy on my jetpack to even know that they exist.

What's more upsetting than pictures of kids in jet packs, and sliding off of mega yachts is a culture that is obsessed with and worships the rich. Something most people will never even come close to being. Nearly half the population of America votes in the interest of the mega rich because they actually believe that they too will one day join their ranks. We're devolving into a society that values material accumulation more than anything else. The new religion is consumerism, we even put "God" on the money.

Anyway keep an eye on the #rkoi hashtag, I've got a suggestion for a better way these guys could spend their money than a giant bottle of whatever, and stupid white shirts.

"Because Fuck The Homeless!"

Also, enjoy shark week.
